Islamabad: The Islamic State (IS) terrorist group has claimed responsibility for Monday's attack on a Chinese-owned hotel in Afghanistan's capital Kabul.In this attack, three attackers were killed and two people staying in the hotel were injured.The Kabul Longan Hotel in the heart of Afghanistan's capital Kabul was attacked on Monday afternoon and plumes of smoke were seen rising from the 10-storey building, according to pictures released on social media.Locals said they heard explosions and gunshots.
Taliban security forces reached the area and blocked all roads leading to the scene.Taliban-appointed police spokesman Khalid Zadran said the attack continued for several hours.Hours after the attack, a local affiliate of the Islamic State claimed responsibility.The Islamic State is a rival group to the Taliban.Islamic State claimed in a statement released on its Telegram channel that two of its members attacked the hotel, as it is often used by diplomats and is owned by "China ruled by the Communist Party".
